So if you were E5 with 8 yrs now your a E4 with 8 yrs Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 18 at 2015 5:35 PM 2015-08-18T17:35:12-04:00 2015-08-18T17:35:12-04:00 1SG Private RallyPoint Member 900123 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Unfortunately your time ingrade will reset. Any break in service is considered a reset of time in grade. A part time Soldier going on to Active status will have a reset of time in grade regardless of rank reduction. I've been through that with a couple of Service members before. Once you make your rank back your date of rank will be adjusted. AR 600-8-19 Ch. 10-18 Hope this helps. His thoughts, He has Ten years of active service, ten more with AGR he retires with a full 20. 1 he should at least make his 7 back. 2 You retire at your highest rank held Response by 1SG Private RallyPoint Member made Aug 18 at 2015 8:14 PM 2015-08-18T20:14:32-04:00 2015-08-18T20:14:32-04:00 SSG Private RallyPoint Member 2945622 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I recently took a reduction from E-6 to E-5 to obtain an AGR position. (18 months ago.) My DOR went back to when I originally obtained my E-5. Originally I was told that when I make my E-6 back I will have a new DOR. However I was told recently that their has been changes and that for administrative reduction you will keep the TIG served at that rank. I do not have the regulation but I will ask my S1 guru and try to get you the answer. The cavet is, he did not to or time to attend COMMAND masyer Sergent School and already was. over 20. Do you really the unit used him to hail out the garage and sweep down. Although he did and loved his new rank. He will retire an E9, a win. TIG does not reset for USAR TPU Soldiers assessed into AGR program. Perhaps if they transfer to Active Component...but AGR transition is a smooth one for USAR.
