AIT Platoon Sergeant Duty

Last week i came down on MRT and AIT PSG Course. I checked my "ask" for an assignment but nothing was there. My question is two part i guess. 1. Do they send you to their mos specific post? (As in where I did ait) for psg duty or do they send you anywhere there is an ait? 2. How long until you find out where your assignment is? Thanks all.

I just found out as well and have the same questions as you do! Did you find out any more information? I'm signal so I'm hoping to go to Fort Gordon, only because my family is there. Other than that I would never go back to that place.

After reading through multiple threads i was able to make contact with someone who started their first cycle in February. They said that they do normally send you to where you did ait, alc. I also just decided to callmy branch manager and he said that yes, I'd be going to Ft. Lee (Quartermaster). He said i won't get actual orders until i clear a background check and it could go all the way until the last week of ait psg school.

Just wanted to put this out there.
When I contacted branch, he informed met that for the 35F in AIT PLT SGT slots, there are four places we could potentially be sloted at.

Ft. Huachuca, AZ
San Angelo, TX
Pensacola, FL
Presidio of Monterey, CA

I graduated a few months ago as a 35T and I got Presidio of Monterey which is not where I went to AIT. The CSM is wanting MOS transparency but for the most part everyone went where they had AIT, or at least in the same series.

AIT Platoon Sergeant positions are great, you may not enjoy it while you are there but you will miss it when you leave. I enjoyed my time shaping Soldiers. Very demanding job and expect long hours.
