Wait until you hit SSD 4. You want to talk about painful.  My advice for ANY of these self-development courses is get through them as fast as you can so you can jump to the head of the line for the schoolhouse.  Fortune may favor the Bold, but it loves the well-prepared. Get that NCOES out of the way.

SFC (Join to see) - clear out the undergrowth standing in your way, then. This advice will contradict my next complaint - that we've become an Army of "getting the box checked".

I have finished all NCOES and completed everything thru SSD4. I am still E-6 and allot of us are waiting for something significant to get selected to the next level. The competitive pool has increased exponentially and it is not looking good for the Corps of Non-Commissioned Officers in my branch MOS.

SSG (Join to see) - not everyone has the time or chance to do something like that. Good use of time, SSG. THAT's what I'm talking about.
