Am I allowed to wear the unit award ribbons if I’m new to the unit?

Yes, you wear them while you’re with that unit. You take them off after you leave-you only keep wearing the ones that the unit earned while you were with them.

Your NCOs will take care of you. Just ask them. They are your leaders so go to them. Why ask a random person?

Your NCOs should square you away and supply should have them along with your Distinctive Unit Insignia

The answer is yes, unless you’re getting a DA Photo. Then, you can only wear those which were earned while you were in the unit. The HRC webpage is a great place to start.. Search AR 670-1 and AR 600-8-22 for more information. You can find these at http://www.apd.army.mil

You can wear the unit award temporarily if you are assigned to the unit. You must not wear them once you leave the unit.
