Am I competitive for 170A Warrant? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/am-i-competitive-for-170a-warrant <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Currently I am putting my packet together to apply for 170A Cyber Operations Technician Warrant. I am in a dental unit but have been doing computer work for several years. I have a BS in IT Security and currently in my MS for IT Security. I am studying to take the CISSP soon (I have gone to classes as well for it and received completed certificates). <br /><br />I worked on a the computers here at work as well as hook the dental equipment up to the network. At home I run a small hobby shop where I do virus removal, firewall setup, re-imaging ect. My current languages that I know but not 100% are Python, Java, HTML, and JacaScript. I currently run a VM at home for different practices. My GT is a 110. <br /><br />The major question is what are they looking for in a candidate as far as requirements, and since I have not held an actual job as a a cyber security tech will that prevent me from applying. Are there any recommendations or &quot;need to have&quot; before applying? I know this is long winded thank you for responses. It takes very little effort to submit a packet for consideration and the worst they can do is say no. Your degree meets the qualification for experience and after you have your CISSP you will be IAT III which is a preferred qualifier. <br />The hardest part will be to find a SR WO that will write an endorsement letter. <br /><br /><a target="_blank" href="http://www.usarec.army.mil/hq/warrant/prerequ/WO170A.shtml">http://www.usarec.army.mil/hq/warrant/prerequ/WO170A.shtml</a> <div class="pta-link-card answers-template-image type-default"> <div class="pta-link-card-picture"> <img src="https://d26horl2n8pviu.cloudfront.net/link_data_pictures/images/000/095/621/qrc/wo_banner.jpg?1471964308"> </div> <div class="pta-link-card-content"> <p class="pta-link-card-title"> <a target="blank" href="http://www.usarec.army.mil/hq/warrant/prerequ/WO170A.shtml">U.S. Army Recruiting Command&#39;s Warrant Officer Recruiting Information Site</a> </p> <p class="pta-link-card-description"></p> </div> <div class="clearfix"></div> </div> CW5 Private RallyPoint Member Tue, 23 Aug 2016 10:58:55 -0400 2016-08-23T10:58:55-04:00 Response by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 16 at 2020 5:27 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/am-i-competitive-for-170a-warrant?n=6316932&urlhash=6316932 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Did you ever apply?
