I’ve gone to finance about my additional pay but I am told the pay is correct. I was hoping that someone could explain to me how BAS works while in TDY. <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You have to remember that most school houses are geared towards the green recruit that is either an OSUT or comes directly from BCT. While reclasses and prior service re-enlisting does happen it is not what the Army is geared towards. <br /><br />As such most are on near lock down from the moment they arrive until they make it through a certain phase and actually allowed to go off post. As such they are marched to and from everywhere, so there is no BK, Chic Fil et, McDonalds etc... it is all chow hall all the time. <br /><br />So your pay is correct, just run with it, and enjoy the extra if there is any.

<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You&#39;re TDY Enroute and you will receive per diem at the rate allocated for your school. Being that 31B is an IET school, you should simply be eating in the local chow hall using a meal card. If you were being charged for food, that wouldn&#39;t be BAS, that would be allocated through per diem and paid to you on the backside of training, or when you do your partial claims every 30 days (as you&#39;re supposed to).
