I’m just curious if I’m supposed to be receiving BAS while in AIT as Mos-T re-classing to 31B. I’ve gone to finance about my additional pay but I am told the pay is correct. I was hoping that someone could explain to me how BAS works while in TDY. I am a single soldier, I was stationed in Germany and I’m in TDY (currently AIT until I PCs to my next duty station).

You're TDY Enroute and you will receive per diem at the rate allocated for your school. Being that 31B is an IET school, you should simply be eating in the local chow hall using a meal card. If you were being charged for food, that wouldn't be BAS, that would be allocated through per diem and paid to you on the backside of training, or when you do your partial claims every 30 days (as you're supposed to).

You will not get BAS because I’m almost 100% your orders sending you to AIT covers your lodging and meals

If you’ve been issued a meal card, you do not suppose to receive BAH. Inform your Cadre so they can get you to the S1 to start meal deductions. SPC (Join to see)

SFC (Join to see) I took care of this with finance. I’m not receiving bah, it’s bas. I’m not currently living in barracks nor am I eating at the dfac.

If you were issued a meal card, you don’t suppose to receive BAS. Not using the meal card is irrelevant if you were issued the meal card. SPC (Join to see)
