I am about halfway through my Bachelors in Business management degree and intend on following up with a masters in Business Administration. With a degree in this field &amp; university, what is the general success rate you feel that it directly enhanced career progression? I love Amu, but am on the fence on doing my masters degree with another university to make my resume a little more diverse. Any Suggestions or personal feedback is greatly appreciated. AMU/APU Graduates: Would you pursue a Masters from a different school, or continue with AMU/APU? 2015-08-25T16:03:35-04:00 SFC Private RallyPoint Member 917493 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Question for graduates from AMU/APU. If you can find another institution that works for you. . . do it. I already have two degrees from AMU, which definitely influenced my decision. If you are talking another on-line college, or for profit school, I think you might be wiser staying with one you know and trust. I like it, very informative and they are very friendly. I received my Bachelors degree from Troy University. I was told by a good friend that you should not go to the same school for your Masters and you did for your Bachelors. So yes diversity is a good thing and you should look into other schools for your Masters. That being said, I am a proponent of using another university when possible for diversity sake and resume building. I did my undergraduate degree in history from AMU. Then I changed schools to Trident University International for my MBA. I concentrated on Human Resources Management for my MBA. Success is all relative to be honest. I applied for positions with my MBA and didn't get a single call. It seemed at the time, everyone had/has a business degree so I didn't see any advantage. With that said, the good thing about having an MBA is that there are many positions you can work in. As for switching schools, as a HR professional, I dont like to see a candidate with just one school. It kind of leaves a 'professional student' idea in my mind. Or maybe the individual just 'knows' that school system only kind of thing. Diversify seems to be the norm from the applications I see. Hope it helps. I met with an officer in the Master's Program and based on my conversations the course material between the Bachelor's and Master's program isn't that different. From this limited information, I would look at pursuing a degree at a college with more civilian recognition to boost your resume. If you plan on staying in the military, AMU is just as good a choice as any other college. I'm glad you asked it. I am in a similar situation. Reading through the answers gave me some interesting things to research. I personally am looking at going through a different school because I think it would look better on a resume to have a different school for each level of education (undergrad cert, AAS, BA, MBA, PhD, etc).
