No surprise here. One thing I am glad of is now many European countries have closed their borders, after the horse is out of the barn. I see us in for big troubles over here as most countries have such strict gun laws. Here in Denmark it is illegal to carry any type of pepper spray for self defense. Pocket knife will get you an automatic 5 days in jail, so most countries here are ripe for the pickins.

Think about it. If you knew that an armed invasion would be repelled almost instantly, how would you infiltrate? By sending thousands of "refugees" to get behind enemy lines to attack from within? The only response force would be police forces - no military.
I've always said this is a chess game who's moves have been made before, just in a different mode. It was an armed invasion way back when. Now it appears to be an unarmed invasion.

Daesh has claimed a lot of things that ended up being wildly overblown. At the end of the day, however, they want to pull us into a ground war and at some point, we may just have to give it to them. We're not there yet though.

I'd actually advocate a withdrawal strategy. It's super risky, but the regional actors are not taking things seriously because Uncle Sam is still shielding them from the consequences of their inaction. Let them feel the sting of an existential threat and assist once they're actually committed.

I wouldn't be surprised to find out that figure is widely skewed for the sake of bravado and fear-mongering. ISIS has previously declared any trying to leave their self-declared "caliphate" are apostates, and will be put to death if caught.

Internally, they are trying to keep people there, externally they are boasting about smuggling people into other countries. Seems like typical extremist dog-and-pony to me.

I have a question: why aren't all of these refugees who are fling Syria and else where fighting ISIS and/ or their corrupt government? Are they cowards or are they just trying to turn Europe into an Islam state? If someone invaded the U.S. I'd fight them to the death. I'd make them feel like they were never born. My civilibility would be out the freaking door. They would talk about how the Americans were monsters for generations to come when it came to fighting the enemy who invaded our country.

I am sure this is not suprising to most military personnel. Of course they took advantage of the fleeing refugee movement to insert terrorist forces. Who wouldn't have? Common sense and past history should have made this obvious.

And who is really surprised?
Everyone wants to shed a tear for the refugees, and yes it is heart wrenching to see a grandmother hobbling through the field with a few small children with a look of utter despair on their faces.
I am sickened by all the seemingly able bodied men who flee their country because its so harsh to live there under such strict laws but when they arrive at their destination one of the first things they do is want to live under those same strict laws. If you want change then go and embrace the change you desire and move on with your life, become a model citizen of the country you immigrate to,
If these people truly desire change then why don't they stay and stand up?

It's not a matter of IF but WHEN we are attacked. I'd be wary of an attack on Black Friday. It's the day after Thanksgiving, a uniquely American holiday. Shopping malls will be crowded presenting a very target rich environment. And black is the color of ISIS.

I have no doubt they will strike we are too busy fighting with each other and ignoring common sense. Combine that with ending the draft that severed the visceral connection between us. a CIC who's never served and politicians who think Duty, Honor and Country are pole dancers in a strip bar. Then we have the yahoos that have never taken any safety training that arm themselves with ordinance that will take out a APC, yet they live in an apt building where the only way they are not going to kill someone in the next unit is if they hit what they shoot at.Everything is someone elses fault.
