I couldn't imagine walking around somewhere with an unauthorized badge or ribbon on my uniform. As service members I don't think it is very difficult to identify service members who are wearing something they shouldn't be. What are your thoughts on the verdict for this CSM? As well as your thoughts for the penalty of similar acts of stolen valor from his officer counterpart, LTC Green?

http://guardianofvalor.com/csm-perry-t-mcneill-found-guilty-of-stolen-valor-sentenced-to-reduction-in-rank-and-pay-forfeiture/ Another case of in-ranks stolen valor. 2015-04-08T16:28:49-04:00 SFC Private RallyPoint Member 579860

I don't know how the military continues to be plagued by these instances of stolen valor, especially within senior leadership positions. The record is easy to run. Own what you've earned (or haven't earned). It's that simple. Integrity. Then it dawned on me that back in 2000 when I was in AIT he was my Drill Sergeant. He was a tough tough DS, but he was always fair. Think of Major Pain and it was him to a t. He talked like him and I even believe he had a gold tooth as well.

What I remember most though was thinking he could do anything he could ever dream of, when we would run he always had the A group and as his front road guard he would tell me we were not stopping until HE puked. Now I considered myself pretty fast back then with a 10:15 two mile, but he would blow me out of the water. I asked him what his time was one time and I believe he said something like 9:20. I believe every part of that. Do you know how hard it is to get someone who can run that fast to puke. lol.

I recently spoken to my old Platoon Sergeant from 2002 who was a Drill with him during my time at AIT and I asked his opinion this was his reply:
Well as you know he was a Drill Sergeant with me so I don't want to say anything negative about him but it does suck and it'll take a long time for him to past the humiliation.

Shame that a career where you reach the pinnacle of your profession is sullied because he was trying to be something he was not. They had more soldiers in the county jail in fayetteville nc than in the 82 airborne. I mean these young soldiers were doing everything imaginable from. Murder to food stamp fraud to selling drugs on post. It was awful with the standards that the army is allowing to sign up since the Iraq war started. No one should be surprised as to why they are getting out. Both the LTC and CSM's career's are over, in fact they will be lucky to ask for retirement. 2. It is a damn shame they did this for their troops to follow. he, CSM by being demoted is probably QMP bait, and the LTC will never command anything to include a Messkit repair station with the penguins. More likely he will be asked to turn in his retirement ASAP.
