Another CAV Unit?

I've been in 2 1/2 years and change, assigned to a dismounted CAV unit, I re-uped and now I'm PCSing to another CAV unit. I'm 11B, how do I get to the line, can I request when I PCS again? Or do I have to get there, deal with it for 12 months and then drop a 4187?
Also which one do you think is better? I want to kick in doors Thanks for any words of wisdom.

Just a suggestion but, volunteer for any thing possible to make you line ready ! Air assault, airborne or straight leg. That would put your options open to what you want PVT(P) Aaron M. M. Bryant . Good luck !

The 11th ACR (Blackhorse) isn't a traditional cavalry unit, it is a combined arms regiment. It sounds like you are going to a traditional line unit, and one that is going to be in the field a lot.

There isn't much in 11th ACR that isn't "the line", especially as a Specialist. Not sure what your concern is.

You poor soul. No 11B should ever have to be stuck in a Cav unit for that long, let alone another enlistment.

Man I feel for you I really do! But if I can give you one piece of advice save your back and knees while you can you will not be thanked for injuries when you retire trust me. And you will get to a leg unit soon enough. Both my knees have been cut on more then once, my neck they are trying to get me to do back surgery and replace my knees. So remember this: your worst Ride is Always BETTER then Your BEST WALK. Unless your hit with an IED or RPG those suck to. LOL
