Befor you get away from your current duty station. Get as much College as you can. Civilian education is hard to get when you get any kind Combat Arms units. You wil need to max out for the most part to get promoted.
It is lot easier to get your Military education maxed out. In a line unit of any kind, Also take all the hard stand school's you can be for leaving your current unit.
They all look good on your N.C.O.R.'s And the promotion boards.

If you are coming up on your window I would say go to your S1 and see about having them pull up paragraph and line numbers of some units at a place you want to go. Give that to your retention NCO and HR Manager so they know that’s where you want to go
