NTC can be very cold in the winter and it will rain. During one rotation that I was on two or three guys from another unit were sharing a tent in the dust bowl and were burning sterno to stay warm. They didn't have any ventilation and if I remember right, at least one died.Response by SSG Laurie Mullen made Dec 11 at 2018 6:20 AM2018-12-11T06:20:01-05:002018-12-11T06:20:01-05:00SGT Dave Matteson4200532

Go to a good outdoor store and find yourself an Esbit pocket stove. Go to Costco or Sam's and buy yourself some individual coffee or tea packs like they have in office setting. It saved my life.
https://www.rei.com/product/653343/esbit-pocket-stove

We got sunburned the first week, sandblasted the second, and snowed the 3rd week.
Just don't let anyone box your vehicle in for the night - if you get hit with CS it doesn't end well. :)Response by SGT Kevin Berman made Dec 11 at 2018 4:53 PM2018-12-11T16:53:38-05:002018-12-11T16:53:38-05:00SSG Private RallyPoint Member4251619

I’m guessing your coming on that hood rotation. I’m OPFOR and the best advice I can tell you is stay alert and stay alive.
