So I’m re-classing to 12B pretty soon and have been a bit anxious about the school and wanted to get some tips on what to study up on before I get there to be more fully prepared since this is a change of pace from what my current MOS is.

Things have probably changed some in the past 24 years but I had a "blast" as a 12B. They teach you what you need to know, just pay attention.
Best of luck.

They will teach you what you need to know. The best thing would be to brush up on your math. Demo, barbwire entanglement, minefields, and especially bridge classification require a LOT of calculations, and all that stuff will be critical as you make E-5. Fairly basic stuff, mainly, nothing beyond the first high school algebra class.

I will start brushing up more on my math of course. I appreciate the reply, 1SG!

I am a 92G, trying to reclass to 12Y. How was your process? I’d love to reclass to 12Y and get out of the dfac. Retention is saying it is a rough call, but they tell me they’ll do whatever they can to get me into that mos. Thank you.

I suggest trying to do research if the 92Gs are understrength or over strength because whenever I reclassed they told me that would determine if I’m able to reclass or not. AIT isn’t so bad and it’s not hard at all
