I was rushed to the hospital where they did multiple tests and determined I had actually not suffered from a seizure, that it was a concussion and I was simply unconscious when they found me, but that I was fine. They told me to report to sickcall for an update later that week. So I was forced to go to sick call week after week because the drs there felt something was wrong with me. They diagnosed me with epilepsy and I was discharged. This all happend within he first 50 days of arriving at basic. sense then I have had multiple civilian drs give me different tests and all concluded I do not and never have had epilepsy. I know it will be challenging but I was wondering if it’s possible for me to re enlist. It had been 5 years sense the discharge date in October.Any chance of re enlisting with an RE 3 med discharge?2018-06-26T16:22:27-04:00Austin Rouse3744997<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>When I was 18 was discharged for medical reasons. You will need medical documentation showing the situation no longer exists - anything that you have from military docs that might show that you did not, in fact, have a seizure, will be greatly helpful to you. You will also need a KICKASS recruiter that will not run at the first sight of difficulty. I've been going through this process for 18 years.Response by SSgt Private RallyPoint Member made Jun 26 at 2018 5:08 PM2018-06-26T17:08:59-04:002018-06-26T17:08:59-04:00PO3 David Fries3745337<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Something else you can do is send a letter to the Discharge Review Board of the appropriate service. With the correct documentation, they can upgrade your RE Code. I had mine changed from a RE4 to a RE1.Response by PO3 David Fries made Jun 26 at 2018 6:53 PM2018-06-26T18:53:59-04:002018-06-26T18:53:59-04:00Austin Rouse3862981<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Just an update to anyone Who is in the same situation and curious, in less then one month I got a re entry waiver cleard, and was not required to get a waiver to re enlist. The army dr agreed that it does not seem That I have anything preventing me from going to basic. I signed an option 40 contract last Saturday and ship out in a few months from now. Thanks to everyone that gave me support and helped answer my questions.Response by Austin Rouse made Aug 8 at 2018 12:55 PM2018-08-08T12:55:15-04:002018-08-08T12:55:15-04:00Melissa Dix6875638<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Hey I received a hardship discharge from the Army 3 years ago and unfortunately received a RE 3 code.
