What recommendations do you have for good health insurance companies?

A soldier is attempting to obtain health insurance for her mother. She refuses to claim her as a dependent because her mother works and earns a good living. The problem is that her mother does not want to be checked for personal reasons. This soldier agreed with her that she would handle the insurance, but she would go to the hospital and she will get medical help. Do you have any recommendations for good insurance companies?

Aetna or Blue Cross Blue Shield are good. I used both back when I was a civilian forever ago.

You need to shop and ask that question for the state/region that the insured will live. All states have different set of regs that effect cost and coverage and some just do a better job of covering certain areas. As a example, in most of the South East, Anthem/BCBS does a good job of coverage, personally didn't like dealing with Cigna or Humana, Aetna was just OK. I still carry an Anthem Medicare Advantage Plan, even though I have switched a most of my healthcare over to the VA these day.

Medishare offeres a different type of health insurance. It’s acceptable under Obama Care. It’s a Christian cost sharing plan. Could provide coverage while addressing her Mom’s privacy concerns

You have to read up on the companies and the policies and is the Doctor/Clinic/Hospital covered as "in network." How much of a co-payment does she want to fork out, what are medication copays. There are a lot of variables in this equation.
