Used to be we would get at least an OPD/NCOPD on financial topics once a year. But those days are long gone. After you leave the service, it's on you to become educated on personal finance/investing. It was lightly touched on in TAPS, not sure if this is true anymore. This is just a follow up to my original post. I have read the following and found them to be really useful in my financial education. The Index Card: Why personal finance doesn't have to be complicated - Helene Olene and Harold Pollack. This a easy, quick read on personal investing. Can pick it up, read it over a weekend and take action the following week. Automatic Millionaire by David Bach. There are so many great books out there to explore! One recommendation I have is ""The Total Money Makeover"" by Dave Ramsey. It's a practical guide that offers step-by-step advice on getting out of debt, building an emergency fund, and creating a solid financial plan for the future.
If you're interested in saving money ( https://www.savingadvice.com ) and optimizing your financial decisions, these books can be incredibly helpful resources. Happy reading, and here's to your continued financial success!
