Any idea as to why DA has drastically halted senior promotions for the last three months?

I know that my circumstances isn't as severe as others. However the last three months there have been zero selections for 92A30 as well as many other MOS's. This time last year, the FY16 list had been already exhausted and the FY17 list was being promoted. Its almost been a year since the FY 18 list was published and there have only been 38 promotions within my MOS. Last month there were 18 eligible and now this month the number dropped to 16. I haveAny thoughts?

Because there are not enough SLC dates to keep up with the promotions. It is a trickle-down effect. You noticed that the upcoming senior promotion boards or all pushed back by 3 months in order to slow down promotions to keep Pace with class seats. Right now there are too many soldiers or the resident courses of Sergeant Major Academy, mlc, and SLC. The slower promotions to SGM mean less personnel moving out of MSG, which means less people SFCs promoting and less SSGs promoting.

Generally promotions are in line with NCOES and vacancies. If there are no valid vacancies. No promotions.

Both E7s are correct. School being the big one. People were getting promoted and not going to school, so STEP program came in and now is like a punishment to those who actually do their SSDs and Reaident’s course.
