I received an injury in January during one of our ruck marches where I rolled my ankle so bad that my doctor said I have tears in multiple ligaments. I’ve been on a no anything profile for a long time and been going to physical therapy. I still haven’t gotten my mri and today my commander said that she may start the 5-17 paperwork tomorrow after looking at our profiles because I’m not allowed to stand in formation still. I’ve been in for 186 days and was wondering if anyone has any insight to this process. And if I do get discharged for it will I still have any benefits? Would I be on disability after? <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You should open up AR 635-200 and actually read chapter 5-17 so you understand what it is. &quot;Chapters&quot; are called chapters because it refers to which chapter the Separation falls under.<br /><br />Chapters are not medical separation. You won&#39;t receive any medical benefits as part of the separation. You might be able to apply for disability from the VA later, but not likely unless you receive some serious lingering injury. It still won&#39;t be much. Point is, it&#39;s not a medical separation and you&#39;ll receive no benefits from it

Your Commander is trying to sort out those who can be put back into the pipeline and those who are taking up space. <br /><br />If you want to be in this lifestyle you need to be the squeaky wheel and get the grease. If you were injured in January and you still don&#39;t have imaging done it&#39;s because you aren&#39;t pushing hard enough or it&#39;s not needed. Speak to your medical providers and keep pushing. Be proactive. If you sit back the system will process you out and you won&#39;t know what&#39;s happening. <br /><br />Second, read up on the chapters. It spells everything out.<br /><br />Good luck.
