Anybody ever enlisted as 68C as prior service?

ETS'd in 2013 as an E-5 (as a 31B). Talked to a recruiter about coming back as a 68C since it's chronically understrength. He said it should be feasible but he'd have to make some calls to see if it's possible. Anybody ever enlisted as prior service as a 68C or a similar MOS?

I am an AIT Platoon Sergeant for the company that trains 68C, 68D, and 68V. It happens all the time.

I work in the 68C program. We get prior enlisted all the time from all MOSs.

I am prior service 13F reclassified to 91B then 91C. Now 68W & 68C. Should not be an issue if you have GT & ST scores to support it.

put away everything idea you have about what the military is or how it should be as a 31B. Maintain your discipline. Study like crazy. I encourage you to take anatomy and physiology or biology before hand if you can. It will help you breeze through the first 3 months of the course.
