Anybody have experience with an exception to policy packet for SLRP incentive? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/anybody-have-experience-with-an-exception-to-policy-packet-for-slrp-incentive

The incentive was part of my original 6x2 enlistment contract. I got it for 38B MOS. I completed the 6 year obligation and direct commission 4 months before completing year 7 of 8 total. Nobody in my unit seems to know anything about completing and submitting the packet nor does local retention. Before commissioning JAN 2016, I spoke w/ SLRP team who informed me that as "long as I stayed in good standing with the reserves, my loans would keep getting paid annually."

I asked via email for a 1 mo extension to get all the documents in, which SLRP had no problem approving. There is an appeal process to dfas, which took ~3-4 mo. My Cmdr had to approve the appeal docs, and then I emailed the paperwork with high hopes.

Background: Loans repaid in 2016 and 2017 @ $3,000 / yr. Then in 2018, I got an email stating they wanted $6,000 back bc I was "ineligible as there was no addendum added to my officer contract."

Currently, they garnish most of my reserve earnings, which is quite unfortunate bc instead of getting 5% matching TSP contributions, I'm only getting 1% from the Army.
