Does anyone else enlisting in the Army right now notice very few jobs currently available? I scored a 94 on my asvab and my job options right now and for the past few weeks are cook and truck driver, a couple intelligence jobs have come up as well but I’m a dual citizen so I can’t get security clearance. I was hoping for a 12B combat engineer but what’s up with this super short list of jobs? Anyone else experiencing this right now?

Your 94 is one of the things taken into account. It's also your line scores (GT, ST, etc.) that determine what jobs you qualify for in relation to what is available. So, either your line scores didn't qualify for 12B or it's not available at this time.

Nahshon Eppley - Well.....by seeing those scores...then this means that a bunch of jobs just aren't available right now. If 12B is what you want....keep waiting until you get what you want.

MSG (Join to see) - is 100% right. Often times what they offer you is what you qualified for and what they need filled today. Retake the ASVAB and be patient for what you want. There are also four other branches you could join.

MSG (Join to see) remember civilians dont typically understand how line scores work. They are given a percentile score based upon everyone that took the test. She scored in the 94th percentile

WO1 John C. - I made the mistake of thinking the 94 that was mentioned was the GT score and then looked and it looks like that is 129. I agree fully with you.

Also, you may have to look at jobs that you don’t particularly want now but that experience will help you not only in your Military career but a civilian one as well. You can always change your MOS down the road as well. Also, if your dual citizenship look at taking the language test (don’t remember the correct name) as the Army needs translators and it used to be extra money on your check.

When I was with the 82nd ABN, we had Cooks and Truck Drivers in our company, they were all Airborne qualified, and were in the field with us Ground Pounder's, humping the field.
Us line doggies, respected them as their primary mission was 11 Bravo, just talk to an SF person.

I don’t doubt it, nothing against cool or truck driver but just saying that it’s weird those are the only two options. I’m going to wait it out a little more tho.

Nahshon Eppley - I understand your point, I guess those jobs are the most opened now a days, due to most want an AC cooled office to work in.
