Anyone here familiar, as in experienced, Codecademy? I want to expand my degree and get some recent coding under my belt. I was recommended to learn Python and other languages popular for cybersecurity.
Any thoughts, suggestions, warnings?

Why wait? Try it. I liked it. There's also Linuxacademy, JKO, FedVTE, IASE, Allison, and more.

Thank you for the suggestion SGT (Join to see) I never heard of linuxacademy. But I have taken a few classes on skillport. As for JKO and other military sites, I will give that a shot too. Hopefully being a 68w and not commo won't be an issue as it is with taking cert classes and the test itself.

Alison was good as well, I completely forgot about my account there. Thanks for the reminder.

Heya, I did most of the languages Code Academy has to offer. Each one takes a day at most to finish so your aren't out any thing if you take it and its no good. I would highly recommend the command line class. You'll feel like a real boss after using a DOS type prompt to create and destroy text files and run automated scripts.
SGT (Join to see) Mentioned some other good ones. I'll second Linuxacademy only because I've heard a ton of people speak highly of it.
Not sure what degree you are seeking or your Federal TA / G.I. Bill options are but I'm in the Oregon State online B.A. program for computer science and it's fabulous.
If you are going to be security focused (...Network Defender...) I may also suggest the Cybrary. https://www.cybrary.it

MAJ (Join to see) , thank you for the heads up, Sir. You're right, it does feel a bit powerful running through DOS prompts while a rep from the common shop is trying to keep up when diagnosing an issue. As for me, I am taking my last class with UMUC for my BA in Cybersecurity. I joined their program when it first started up so there was no specializations listed, it feels more like a general IT BA with some digital forensics and criminal justice elements. Sadly, my program being non-specialized, did not have coding as a viable core requirement...thus my interest in free learning like Skillport and Codecademy.
But good news for those looking at UMUC, they have in the past year changed their program to two branches, policy and management and then the hardcore coders with ethical hacking and other skills (you can't switch to these specializations in your senior year, apparently).

Sgt Spratley gave you a great list of resources. I used Codeacademy when I needed to brush up on HTML. Good experience on my part. The longer I am in this business the more it seems I have to go back and brush up on all of the things I learned years ago. It must be an age thing or else the entire field is expanding faster than I can keep up.
