Anyone have any recommendations or ideas of sponsors to help our medical company get winter coats for kids at a low income school?

I was hoping to get these kids winter coats. It's not a big school, maybe 450 kids. Anyone have any recommendations or ideas of sponsors to accomplish this?

SFC (Join to see) 450 kids is huge for an elementary school. They are usually 250-300 students. I'd write letters to manufacturers like Columbia and North Face, or to a large discount retailer like Burlington Coat Factory and see what if they would make a corporate donation. Another option is to have everyone in the company go to Goodwill or other thrift shop and buy one coat. Split up on sizes so you don't get 150 XS coats. If people could afford it, have them buy it at Walmart, not exactly legit, but if it is new with tags, they could be exchanged for a better size.

Thank you Sir. I have pushed that idea out to our Medical Company. Working that right now. Thank you for the suggestions, hadn't thought of those companies. Have a great day.

I don't know how well it would work but you could try ACS. They have a surplus of funds year-round that should go to use somewhere.

LTC Jason Mackay there was a report just a few years ago that said nationally the ACS had a surplus of millions of dollars.

SGT Joseph Gunderson - my ACS was going through cushions on the office couch looking for change in September every year. We did many programs for a small installation.
That may be at IMCOM level. If they are appropriated funds they would not be available for donations. NAF funds get cross leveled at IMCOM/ACSIM level to bail out under performing programs and the FMWR equivalent of MILCON.
if you have a link, I'd like to read the article. My last year in command, they swept NAF dollars to cover AF shortfalls. Were they talking Army Community Service or Advanced Civil Schooling?

LTC Jason Mackay - I will have to do some looking for it. It was a couple years ago.
