I've seen quite a few successful events including chili cook off with 50/50 split between winner and fund, pizza sale, breakfast burrito sale, silent auction of craft items. Raffles may work but check with JAG because they might be gambling in some states.

Thanks, Sir. We've got some food events in the pipeline, as well rotation of the commander's parking space for a week at a time. Gambling is out. I remember another unit did a rock-paper-scissors(-lizard-Spock) tournament, but it was inappropriate planned for the same time as the Holocaust speaker for Yom Hashoah. EO is pretty hypocritical sometimes.

Call your post MWR unit funds manager and she will give you the basics. All soldiers and civilians are to benefit from expenditures. I have some ideas for money raising.

I spoke with them and planned a meeting along with JAG, but we're only entitled to $6/year in traditional "unit funds" for the one authorized military slot. The rest of us are overages on the TDA. An organizational account will have to supplant a unit fund for this hybrid organization.

You need an account custodian and a council to vote on expenditures.
