It is a beautiful post, lots of history if you are into that. Yes, the closest major city is Tucson which is about 60 miles away. However, you have Tombstone, Bissbee there. I agree with SGM Carl Cunningham advise and do not listen to the negative comments from SSG Michael Livesey. It is what you make of it. Good luck, have fun. If it wasn't for family, I would have retired there. Sorry, I cannot tell you about the MP's, I was Intel while out there. However, not as an MP, but as an MI soldier. To my understanding, that is a garrison unit that you be mostly doing road work and tracking down illegals coming across the border and entering the base via mountains. But I can say that the community (Sierra Vista, Bisbee, Tombstone) are very friendly to the military. If you do not like the outdoors activities, need to start..lol. Area as a whole is very pretty. Please take these comments (especially bad ones) as a grain of salt. Only you can make a judgment if you like it or not. Good luck and have fun. Also, thank you for your service.
