I attended OCS in 1976/97 and don’t have any recollection of an OCS history test. If must be something recent.

USAF OTS didn't have one either, there was some historical mention, however, it was comparatively minimal, I'd done mil history in Army OCS, the ONE of the unit taught it, he was esp interesTed in wargamkng, I did a paper on warming for him, delving into ops research aslects, he also used simple board War games for Chancellorsville, Inchon, D-Day, Iwo Jima, Midway, he had a quite unusual intellect...I actually got the 1978 AUSA Army ROTC mil history award for the paper, I got a copy of one of the green volumes the WW2 Army history collection on WW2 in Italy with a small award plaque on the inside front cover, I still have it, it was the only award I'd ever gotten while I'd been in the program....

Mainly, exams there, it's been at Lackland then, the USAF OTS, before it moved to Maxwell, were on current USAF as other svc organization at the time, with some slight historical content...though all the science types did get to meet one of the Apollo astronauts, an O-9 who was a friend of the Commndant at the time, I got to ask a col of naive questions of him....

I am awaiting my ATRRS reservation for OCS. Everyone who has recently attended, that I've spoken with, says that it is always changing. Supposedly you cannot prepare ahead of time because you are tested on whatever content you learn during the time it is taught. I plan to take it as it comes and not stress about it. Like others have said, pay attention and you should be fine; I trust the process, as it has not done me wrong over the last 8 years.

Just pay attention in class. People always get intimidated by the History test and the Military Intelligence test. I’m not sure why either, because they aren’t hard if you just pay attention. I passed them without studying and saw much smarter people fail them. There were more failures on the History test, but I think people just confused themselves. My roommate failed and got recycled; he studied so much that his head hurt. When it came to the test he was screwed. Good luck!
