But I would recommend going to an archery club or range and speak with them. They are generally inexpensive, durable and safe and built for youth. Scouts can't shoot compound until they are 14 (If I remember correctly). This way you don't spend a lot of money if he doesn't take to it. <br /><br />Believe it or not with all our range running experience, we military folks still have to get BSA range master certified to run BB and Archery ranges and be NRA qualified for Boy Scout rifle &amp; shotgun ranges. I've been doing it for the past few years and its great fun.
