But I would recommend going to an archery club or range and speak with them. There he can try different ones out and they will find one for his arms length and strength. a an example:<br /><br /><a target="_blank" href="http://texasarchery.info/">http://texasarchery.info/</a> <div class="pta-link-card answers-template-image type-default"> <div class="pta-link-card-picture"> <img src="https://d26horl2n8pviu.cloudfront.net/link_data_pictures/images/000/003/644/qrc/TXAAlogo8_700.jpg?1443024172"> </div> <div class="pta-link-card-content"> <p class="pta-link-card-title"> <a target="blank" href="http://texasarchery.info/">Texas Archery</a> </p> <p class="pta-link-card-description">. . . &amp;rarr; Read More</p> </div> <div class="clearfix"></div> </div> SSG Pete Fleming Mon, 06 Oct 2014 21:52:16 -0400 2014-10-06T21:52:16-04:00 Response by MAJ Robert (Bob) Petrarca made Oct 6 at 2014 10:04 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/archery-and-other-outdoors-practicum?n=267388&urlhash=267388 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I would go with the basic bow that he started with at scouts. They are generally inexpensive, durable and safe and built for youth. Scouts can't shoot compound until they are 14 (If I remember correctly). This way you don't spend a lot of money if he doesn't take to it. <br /><br />Believe it or not with all our range running experience, we military folks still have to get BSA range master certified to run BB and Archery ranges and be NRA qualified for Boy Scout rifle &amp; shotgun ranges. I've been doing it for the past few years and its great fun. You'll need to find out a few details like hand dominant and eye dominant. I'd go with #24<br /><br /><a target="_blank" href="http://www.3riversarchery.com/product.asp?i=2450X">http://www.3riversarchery.com/product.asp?i=2450X</a> <div class="pta-link-card answers-template-image type-default"> <div class="pta-link-card-picture"> <img src="https://d26horl2n8pviu.cloudfront.net/link_data_pictures/images/000/003/647/qrc/2450X.jpg?1443024174"> </div> <div class="pta-link-card-content"> <p class="pta-link-card-title"> <a target="blank" href="http://www.3riversarchery.com/product.asp?i=2450X">3Rivers Youth Recurve Bow &amp;amp; Arrow Kit</a> </p> <p class="pta-link-card-description">The 3Rivers youth bow and arrow set is a great way to get your kids started in archery.
