Does Active duty already using the new body armor(IOTV)? or still using the old one? I'm currently in the reserve, but we are still using the old one which is heavy. Are active duty troops already using the new body armor?2018-12-26T15:49:59-05:00CPL Private RallyPoint Member4236921<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I read the articles which written about the new Army body armor. It was new when I deployed in 2007. If you deploy you will get new body armor issued to you. You simply have old armor for training. Don't worry, they're all heavy.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 26 at 2018 5:37 PM2018-12-26T17:37:40-05:002018-12-26T17:37:40-05:001SG Private RallyPoint Member4237411<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>You're going to have to be more specific with which IOTV you are referring to. The newest armor being issued is called the MSV, Modular Scaleable Vest. It has three tiers of protection. They are still working on extra add ons to increase covered body area.Response by 1SG Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 26 at 2018 8:06 PM2018-12-26T20:06:28-05:002018-12-26T20:06:28-05:002018-12-26T15:49:59-05:00
