Are any of the branches taking prior service for active duty?

I have 8 years and 3 months on active duty and have a 6 year break in service. I have completed an associates degree. I have been told almost everyone is taking prior service reserves but I kind of just want to disappear onto active duty.

I have been considering going back myself, albeit as an Officer. I don't think reentry is a major issue - I have seen Marine Officer Corps recruitment videos on YouTube that will take fellas (even over age limit) if they can meet the physical and training demands. Plus, the AF has bulking up pilots and aviation MOSs. Being prior service should put you in a good position. Has your recruiter denied you reenlistment on active duty for a specific reason?

You need to go see a recruiter. It's really as simple as that. There's more to it than just time in service, all of which will need to be checked.

As SGT Sean Goodrow has already stated, go see a recruiter. Those of us on here can spout our "wisdom" all day long, but the recruiters have the first hand knowledge that you need.
