There is no accommodation for BAH in that regard either, unless of course you qualify on your own right. I wonder how your spouse can handle school as a single parent, not easy. I could be wrong! I couldn't be certain, of course, however, just as an idea, maybe you could ask the quarters manager for the installation, or their staff, maybe asking the chaplains for help to ask for you as well, if you might be able to use either BOQ or VOQ/TDY housing there, even if only for awhile, you know? I'd found this, I just figured I'd send it...once, where I was, another Lt was in the BOQ next to me, he'd apparently snuck in there, God only knows how, for months, with his wife and kid, I'd seen...evidently, he hadn't been noticed doing it, for a fairly long while, I mean, he'd been really pretty blatant about it, I'd seen, he was eventually stopped, thankfully...that was the only time I'd ever encountered something like that...clearly, there'd be rules as to how long you could be allowed to make use of such a possibility, even if allowed, obv...that being said, I just figured it'd at least be worth suggesting, if nothing else, ya know, esp if the chaplains might be able to intercede to try to help, I'd thought, maybe, also, as well...in any event, just an idea, honest....

Fort Bliss, Texas - Lodging, Housing, Apartments, El Paso Hotels

Fort Bliss Lodging - IHG Army Hotels on post, hotels & housing in El Paso, TX - furnished apartments at per diem. Might want to check with the post housing people and they might be able to get you to move in the BOQ which is like barracks but for senior enlisted and officers, plus they might be able to get you hooked with another officer who is looking for a room mate or to share the rent good luck sir. Last thing check with your platoon sergeant or 1st sergeant they have a lot of knowledge they deal with these a lot of times. You do not want to be in the barracks. It leaves you open for more than you want to know or be responsible for/to. You may want to discuss this with your finance office about your situation. If I were your CO...back in the day...NO to living in the barracks. I don't even know if the BOQ would accept your residence based on what you have written. Something more for you to think about. I stayed in many different empty barracks and a deserted former Hospital at FT Carson during 2003. Some Officers commandeered and set up their own Fiefdoms on base outside of their Med Hold Unit. I also lived in Vacant barracks at Camp Pendleton in 1976. You can ask around...
