I'm full aware of PCSing to and fro but there is nothing that addresses soldiers who become eligible to move off post. Thanks for any help. Are single Soldiers authorized PTDY to move out of barracks? 2014-10-24T19:23:44-04:00 SSG Private RallyPoint Member 292692 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I'm not finding anything in the regulation that directly addresses this issue. In some units (at least in the past) you could get permission to live off post, but not at the Army's expense (i.e..no BAH or separate rats)....which somewhat mimics PTDY, but PTDY usually involves you taking leave or a pass of some kind. Also, I would like to assume the chain of command would be understanding if a Soldier would need to leave work to go visit a real estate agent or a housing office. I&#39;d you are moving out because you want to take leave. It has been a while for me on AD but last I remember unit&#39;s don&#39;t like to give passes during the week just over the weekends and which sometimes can be a hindrance. Now if you are moving out because of over crowding the unit may give you a pass for a couple of days during the week to find a place. Keep in mind BAH with or without dependant rate if that is an issue and authorized.
