It's corrective training in an area of deficiency. Is it good, no, but it is THE standard. Pretty simple, almost like there's a regulation and manual for it....... Let me try to sum up everything.
A smoke session for a low PT score? No.
Any form of punishment for a low score that still achieves 60-60-60? No.
However, additional PT is not, in and of itself, punishment. Especially if that additional PT is conducted "on the clock." (I.e. no "Squad dismissed. Except for PVT Schmedlap.")
Remember that the "T" in PT (or PRT) is TRAINING. If the squad leader, in her or his expert opinion, believes that the most important training focus for a Soldier at a given point in time is physical fitness/readiness, then the squad leader has a DUTY to train that Soldier. NCOs are responsible for your training, welfare, etc., etc. and can exhort more to help you by competitive against others. Bottom Line- shut up, work hard and exceed the standards. They are NOT breaking any regs. Response by SGM Bill Frazer made Apr 3 at 2020 5:56 PM 2020-04-03T17:56:53-04:00 2020-04-03T17:56:53-04:00 2020-03-31T17:12:28-04:00
