Are soldiers getting ASUs in basic training?

I have a Soldier saying he didn't get his ASUs in basic training and was giving a memo because of Covid and to give that memo to whom ever in AIT to get the ASUs. But he turned it in to his leader and was the end of that.

This sounds REALLY fishy to me. I don't remember if ASUs show up on clothing record like ACUs do (and I'm retired so I no longer have a record to check). But if they do, I would check their clothing record - that would tell you the truth of the matter.

Questions:
1) Did the soldier get the new AGSU issued?
2) Or did the soldier not get either the AGSU or the blue ASU?

My understanding is only the new AGSU will be issued at TRADOC, and the blues will eventually be for super formal stuff.

Getting neither sounds fishy.
I do not believe they show up on the clothing record. I don't remember seeing it on my record when I checked my inventory against my storage.

Sgt Theodore (Ted) M. Hallock (since you blocked me for some reason): Why do you only call out some people about their profile names and not others? I see people with anonymous in their name all the time and some you call out, some you don't. Why is that?
