Are SrA who have graduated ALS treated with more respect than those who have not?

Leadership will expect more from a Senior Airman who has graduated ALS. Once you graduate ALS, there is always a chance you could be put in a supervisor position for other Airmen. During ALS you are being groomed to become an NCO and a supervisor and others are going to look to you when it comes to standards. So in my opinion, it is not about a SrA being treated with more respect, respect is earned by doing your job well and holding yourself and others to the highest standards.

Nope. You get a troop, but a staff sergeant anymore is just an overpaid senior airmen in many respects.

Honestly couldn't tell. I sure hope they aren't trying to lock up other SrA at attention or force them to call ALS grads "Sir/Ma'am".

Seems like the thin distinction between 2Lt and 1Lt, but without even the difference in rank.

The only difference I have seen is that the Senior Airmen who have graduated ALS now have more expectations put on them than ones that have not. Might get a troop and they will give you more responsibilities for when you become an NCO.

Only if you get assigned as a supervisor or a line number. Even then, you will likely still be treated the same as any other SrA.

In my experience, most SrA going to ALS already have a line number for SSgt, but just going completing a class does not change my level of respect for someone. That comes from their attitude and actions.

I would say that the SrA that has graduated from ALS is senior in rank because of finishing a leadership school. In fact, the moment you return from ALS, you can be assigned subordinates.

But... that being said... Respect is earned. If an ALS grad EARNS respect they will receive respect.

How can you tell the difference? It is on how they conduct themselves. That's how you decide how to treat them.

Yes, more respect as in they will get more work handed down to them by their NCOs
