Are the application processes for VA Benefits set up as a deterrent? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/are-the-application-processes-for-va-benefits-set-up-as-a-deterrent

I sat through my ACAP workshop this week and received the briefing for VA benefits. While the process for getting benefits have came a long way in recent years, it feels like the process is set up as a deterrent. I thought the paperwork required during my active duty time was bad, but the requirements for the VA can drive someone crazy to the point of not even applying. The 6 month to a year wait for approval is horrible. Has anyone had a positive experience with benefit application process with VA? They provide these services free of charge
regardless of whether or not you are a member of their organization.
