Being of old, I'm not up on current requirements of this nature and would like to see how they compare to what we were taught long ago. As far as weight goes the old M-1 was 9.5#. Anything less than that is light.Response by Capt Tom Brown made May 11 at 2016 3:08 PM2016-05-11T15:08:25-04:002016-05-11T15:08:25-04:001stLt Private RallyPoint Member1520291<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>What are you talking about, the proposed changes to the PFT?Response by 1stLt Private RallyPoint Member made May 11 at 2016 3:29 PM2016-05-11T15:29:32-04:002016-05-11T15:29:32-04:00Cpl Justin Goolsby1522277<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Well I don't know if the rifles are getting lighter, but in regards to keeping people from getting injured in combat, it'll never happen. It doesn't matter how high or low the requirements. Injuries happen. Hell, I remember one of my last CFTs, my buddy leaped onto my back during the fireman carry portion. Leg went one way, knee went another. These things happen. Not to mention in combat situations, people are typically exchanging fire. Injuries will always happen.Response by Cpl Justin Goolsby made May 12 at 2016 10:33 AM2016-05-12T10:33:36-04:002016-05-12T10:33:36-04:002016-05-11T08:18:40-04:00
