Are the Old School Ways better than the New School Ways of the military?

MSG(P) Michael Warrick, being an older guy, I think some of the old school ways are better. When it comes to respect, traditional values, and things like that, I'm a believer in old school. However, times change, and with that change come improvements in certain things (tactics and technology, for example), so there's a mix. There's no denying that old school values should never change (in my opinion), but being ready and able to adapt to change in certain areas (new school) is also critical to success.

Yes and no! Honor and traditions run deep and need to be upheld to enact a sense of comrade. But with changes in technology and in the standard of society, one must Improvise, overcome and adapt! Semper Gumbi!

I think you opened a can of worms here. I think that both ways have their ups and downs. I think if we keep the good things of both and discard the bad then we can have some really amazing results. Just my 2 cents.
