Are the PC police causing a weakening of the force?

it seems to me that as of late, we have had an influx of young soldiers who apparently were never scolded for their actions. Perhaps the products of loose parenting or just a general disregard for authority that went unchecked in their younger years so they could be left to explore their "feelings". I'm not sure what the problem is, but I've noticed that at least in my experience, the Army seems to be turning into the "hug a private" Army. When I first came in nearly 8 years ago it was happening then to some extent, and I'm sure people who have been in longer will agree that my generation of soldier is weaker than theirs in some aspects, it's natural to think so. However, it seems that the public policy makers with their PC attitudes, social experimenting, and other such nonsense are breeding a soldier who is VERY thin skinned. I'm a direct type person, ask a question, get an answer. If you screw up, I call you on it. Perhaps this was the way I was raised? I don't know, but anyway, do any of you have this problem in your units where soldiers behave like children when they don't get their way? Or a command that coddles junior soldiers to the point of detriment to the unit cohesion? Or even goes so far as to scold an NCO for putting a soldier in their place? It seems like a problem that started small and is now becoming a pandemic to me.

I think they are weakening society as a whole and therefore the military as well.

As the famous quote sez.... "The road to Hell is paved with good intentions."
I have thought for many years now that Political Correctness will ultimately be the downfall of this great nation. It's gotten to the point a person can't even take a deep breath without offending someone.

This has been a problem for the past thirty years. I believe it's a combination of three things first the laws are being changed to where parents are threatened with incarceration if they chastise their kids. The second is the number of children having children and the third is this stupid concept of parents wanting to be their children's friend. You can't parent when you are trying to have your child as your running buddy!
