My time to re-enlist is approaching and I intend to stay in the Army, but I am unsure if I am going to have to reclass and I would rather not. I haven't heard or seen any recent milper messages on the subject. Any information or guidance you all may have is much appreciated.

You need to speak with the Career Counselor for your unit. I am one and I will tell you what I know......currently your MOS is balanced meaning you are not at thread of being involuntarily reclassed. Also you are eligible for all 5 re enlistment options 1 regular army 2 current station stabilization 3 army training reenlistment option (reclass or airborne school) 4 OCOUNUS station of choice and 5 CONUS station of choice. Your career counselor can tell you exactly what assignments are available for your MOS in your skill level and then can reenlist you with it in your contract. Any other questions feel free to message me.

SGT(P) (Join to see) - Airborne opens up opportunities in more preferred duty stations, as well as with more prestigious units. For example, your chances of getting an Italy or other European assignment increases when you have an airborne background. Also, I would not be in the USASOC community if I had not gone to airborne school. Being in the USASOC community has by far made airborne worth the trouble. Lastly, for you disability seekers, it is rumored that airborne status gives you an automatic 10% disability rating.
