If i where able to select these duty stations what are the odds of being assigned that duty station? I wouldn't mine if the Garrison cycles where all similar across the board, it's more of a preference. Are there any 31B duty stations with more law enforcement road work than field work?2020-09-29T12:47:59-04:00SPC Private RallyPoint Member6356021<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>For the Army Military Police, what Duty Station gives you more Law Enforcement duties than field work on average? Meade, MD in The Military District of Washington, and it was 100% Road Work. We did some awesome Training, but there was no going to The Field. I have heard things have changed in The MDW, but I am not 100% sure. It would be the Area to look if an Area exists. FYI, this does not mean You do not PT before and/or after Shift work. I was also Black Boot Army at the time so You had to keep You Uniform Pressed and Boot mirror shiny.Response by SGT Cody Skinner made Sep 29 at 2020 1:05 PM2020-09-29T13:05:47-04:002020-09-29T13:05:47-04:00SGM Steve Wettstein6356301<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>If you want to primarily work the road, you need to go to a TRADOC base (Lee, Meade, Jackson, Gordon, Huachuca, etc). You still have the chase of being deployed from those bases but it is less likely than any other base.Response by SGM Steve Wettstein made Sep 29 at 2020 2:06 PM2020-09-29T14:06:31-04:002020-09-29T14:06:31-04:00SFC Ocie Conner6356601<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>My thoughts as an MP with 24 years is you want that mixture. Working LE is great but you lose the edge on combat related skills especially in most of the TRADOC Law and Order Detachments. Having that balance surely sets you up as a leader of being knowledgeable on both fronts. Most of your FORSCOM units rotate being LE and Field if they are not on patch chart for deployment or rotation overseas. Some units are on rotations abs conduct LE as well as combat field cycles during rotation.Response by SFC Ocie Conner made Sep 29 at 2020 3:59 PM2020-09-29T15:59:12-04:002020-09-29T15:59:12-04:00PFC Scott Whitmire6357749<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Fort sill was mostly garrison not sure nowResponse by PFC Scott Whitmire made Sep 29 at 2020 11:50 PM2020-09-29T23:50:29-04:002020-09-29T23:50:29-04:00SGT Private RallyPoint Member6454439<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Okinawa,JapanResponse by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 30 at 2020 9:00 PM2020-10-30T21:00:53-04:002020-10-30T21:00:53-04:00SPC Anthony Brown6503416<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I was stationed at Fort Myer, VA. from 2000 to 2002. Fort Myer was all Law enforcement with gate guard shifts mixed in. In 2014 the Fort Myer Military Police Company was merged with the Old Guards 289th MP detachment. It's road patrols and ceremonial work. I was also stationed in Heidelberg, Germany with the 529th MP CO, 95th MP Bn which was completely garrison. The 95th MP Bn was removed from active service and the companies were moved to the 18th MP Brigade.Response by SPC Anthony Brown made Nov 16 at 2020 10:33 AM2020-11-16T10:33:43-05:002020-11-16T10:33:43-05:00SPC Private RallyPoint Member6512382<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I mean could try ft myer va with the old guard, we primarily work the road but it’s rare to get crazy cases hereResponse by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Nov 19 at 2020 12:07 AM2020-11-19T00:07:28-05:002020-11-19T00:07:28-05:00SPC Sean Kennedy6512827<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Only experience I have is Fort Myer, Va which was all garrison and home of the old guard so we did zero field training (this was back 2003-2004 so it might’ve changed) also fort belvoir is very garrison/ road heavy also in the MDWResponse by SPC Sean Kennedy made Nov 19 at 2020 6:24 AM2020-11-19T06:24:34-05:002020-11-19T06:24:34-05:00SGT Private RallyPoint Member6595521<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Look for detachments. They often miss the field due to their primary missions being the road. If a unit is in a location that has a greater demand for road workers, then it is likely that said unit would need a rotational MP unit to cover down for them if they were to go to the field...Which is less likely to happen. for example if there are only 30 MPs at a moderately large garrison, that garrison cannot afford to send them all to the field at once.Response by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 20 at 2020 2:31 PM2020-12-20T14:31:38-05:002020-12-20T14:31:38-05:002020-09-29T12:47:59-04:00
