Are there any additional sources for me to pay for college?

I'm on my last term with using the GI Bill, I have a handful of classes that I have to complete before being awarded my degree. Is anyone aware of any additional sources that I can look into in regards to getting more funds to pay for the remainder of my college. Hopefully someone has a secret squirrel honey hole they want to share with me...and or pay for the rest of my school that would also work..thanks guys!

Federal Tuition Assistance if you are still Active or in the Reserves, if you have a service connected disability 30% and above (some instance 20%, but that was Obama Legacy, not sure if that would still apply), you can apply for Vocational Rehabilitation.

Look for academic scholarships from the school you are attending. I had nearly half of my tuition paid that way.

If you have a disability rating you can qualify for Vocational Rehab chapter 31. Worth taking a look.

My father in law was the secretary of the local VFW and American Legion posts. They always had some extra money to give out for vets and SM's going to college. Don't know what the req's are, or if there is an official policy. It might be worth it to go talk to the local folks at the VFW and Legion. I would assume that Knights of Columbus would also have something similar, just not sure.

I can suggest some stuff, it'd just depend also on a few things, OK? What major are you? GPA? Grades? STEM coursework? Do you want to stay in? Senior enlisted? Warrant? Commissioned? Flight? Clinical interests? Would you stay USMC or go interservice at all? If USMC, most obv know of NROTC, though I didn't know if you knew of USMC Platoon Leaders Course (PLC), that generally isn't as we'll known...if you're willing to try interservice, if USCG, they have their own scholarship program, if clinical at all, look at the USPHS COSTRP, the USPHS analogue to an ROTC, as well. Try to do a detailed bio sketch, interests, reading, ambitions, grad school wishes, what major or majors for grad school, would you want masters only, or doctoral also? Clinical doctoral? Academic doctoral? Research interests? There are regionally accredited programs I could suggest, Excelsior in NYS that was govt and privatized, Thomas Edison in NJ, Oak Tree in CT, also, the CLEP, and, did you transfer in any credits at all from anywhere? Did you get a DANTES or Amer Council on Educ (ACEL mil transcript for your USMC or other svc coursework? Have you looked at USAF Community College of the AF (CCAF), which, while assocs only, might also not be usable by other svcs, though I'm assuming your going for a bachelors...how many credits is you bachelors? Have you tried for college work study (CWS) at all? You'd have to be evald to see if you could be allowed, also, see if any faculty if you'd want to go grad level where you are might he willing to consider you for a grad level assistantship, GA (admin), RA, (research), or TA (teaching)? Have you done any grad level exams yet? GTE genl test? GRE subj tests, hose used to be allowed by Excelsior for 30 pass fail credits, Oak Tree or Thomas Edison I believe allowed 24 pass fail credits, with a minimum raw score, not just a minimum percentile, though that might've been stopped. Look up Univ of the People, it's not regionally accredited, it's under DEAC, which while Federally recognized, isn't a panacea, I'm unsure if it:s accepted by VA, the svcs, or industry, their ofcs are in Calif, they have zero tuition, just admin and exam fees, prorated by per capita income of a given country, they were endorsed by the Vatican, I've read good things, they have assocs and bach in bus admin, comp sci (CS), and health sci, as well as an MBA, however, don't take them purely on my say so, tour really need to check, as I'm unsure, as I'd said, if VA, the svcs, or industry accept them yet, OK? Do you want industry? Guard? Reserve? AGR? guard Tech? Reserve Tech? Law? Have you done the GMAT? The LSAT? The MCAT? Any other clinical entrance exams, if your interests lie in such a direction, dental, optometric, whatever, I was merely curious, those are my thoughts for now, explain most re, elaborate, as I'd said, the more you send in, the more I or others her could possibly suggest, OK? I'd be most eager to hear more, look also at the state maritime colleges, if you'd want to transfer, though if you're nearly done with your Bach, you likely wouldn't want to, VMI, the Citadel...do you want an OCS? An OIS indoc program if direct commission? Just some further thoughts, relate more, I'd be genuinely newly interested, hope that was all of at least some use, OK?

And I saw you're helicopter maintenance, did you get FAA airframe and power plant (A&P) licensure at all? Have toy done any pilot training at all, even private pilot or aeronautics at all? I'd just thought to ask that, as well....

Check out the Veteran NGOs. MOAA and all of them have both grants and scholarships. Wish I could point you to one for sure, but research is free and could pay off.

Are you currently under a hybrid program (traditional/online) or full time? Some universities offer part time employment that waive tuition or books, even provide you the opportunity to give a weekend presentation on your experiences or topic you feel is relevant. As a service member you have a very valuable skill set that schools are in desperate need to tap into. Please consult with your advisor for any and all opportunities.

Most universities have a veterans service office that can guide you towards funding available through the university, the state, or local veterans organizations. Each university and each state has different resources available.

The American Legion Legacy Scholarship Fund is available if you are 50% or more VA rated disabled. Go to Legion.org and check it out.

Often schools will require you to start with the FAFSA, but once you do that you can often gain access to veteran only scholarships and grants (both of which you don't have to pay back). You can also talk to you schools financial aid personnel about the options. Your school should also have a veteran coordinator - most schools do have someone dedicated to veterans now, even if they do other jobs as well.

That being said, you should look into the Forever GI Bill, they changed the rules so that you won't run out for just such situations as these. You can now get funding for that final year even if you've run out of the regular time for school to get paid for. But there are certain limitations, so without knowing all the details it is difficult to tell you if you qualify. Besides, it would be better to talk to your financial counselor at your school for that information anyway because they will (hopefully) know more than anybody on here since it's their job.
