Are there any National Guard Airborne units (other than SF)?

Are there any NG Airborne units (other than SF)? I'm going to move out of state after my upcoming deployment but haven't decided where yet, but if there are states with airborne units, they would be my first choice. Thanks for any info.

TSgt Private RallyPoint Member, the GAARNG has the 165th Quartermaster Company, which is a rigger outfit. I'm sure there are others like that in other states as well.

Have you checked with your unit/state if they would release you to transfer out of state? ARNG enlistment contracts are with that state and your release has to be approved. A transfer to the Regular Army requires a release from the state authority as well. Basically the state has to approve releasing you from your current contract. The Army Reserve is a Federal component under the DA, which make it much easier than the ARNG for intra-state transfers or release to RA. Good luck, but it may be difficult getting your unit and state to release you to transfer to a ARNG unit in another state. Especially if you got a bonus on your last enlistment, or the ARNG paid for any training. Good luck

Yes, the 1st Battalion, 143th Regiment is a National Guard Airborne Battalion with units in Rhode Island, Texas, and Alaska.

I believe 1-108th Cav Georgia ARNG is still airborne. Though if you haven't been to Airborne school yet, the chance of the unit sending you in the near future is pretty slim. Word from my CoC is that the whole state is pretty strapped for cash with regard to any "Hooah" schools.

check each division for pathfinder units - the 40th ID had an Abn Pathfinder unit, however the waiting list was 3 yrs

Every LRS unit is Airborne. These are aligned with the defunct BfSB organization, but most states retained them. If you can tell me your MOS, then it might be easier to actually tell you whether there's a unit.
Rhode Island has a few slots in Troop Command, in addition to C Co, 1-143rd which is airborne. Maryland has a LRS company (although I believe they are being disbanded).

Yes there is a airborne infantry bn in Austin, Texas. I think one company is in one of the northeast states. The Bn are part of the 173rd out of Italy. Their assignment to the 173rd is kind of a test to see if the guard can keep up with the same training cycle as the active component. There is a kind of selection process to get into unit, such as passing the APTF at the 18-21 standard and a 5 mile run.

My squadron here in Indiana is a airborne unit, 2 squadron 152nd Cav, we have a long range advanced airborne scout surveillance troop which is known as LRS and it is Charlie Troop, The rest are our ground recon elements, any questions feel free to message me! Best of luck!
