Are there more opportunities to get an Air Assault slot while stationed at Ft. Campbell?

Later this year I’ll be stationed at Ft. Campbell with the 501st Medical Co. Since it the home of Air Assault School will I have a better chance of getting a slot?

You get assigned to the 101....you're more than likely going to go to AAS

You def have a chance, but you def have a better chance if you can prove that you can make it through.

When I first got there, my CDR told me that I was going to AASLT school. about 3 months later, I was in the course and was a first time go.

Supposedly you have to be AASLT q'd to take CMD. However, my CDR at that time could not pass it even after four tries.

You will go Sir. Maybe not in the first 90 days, as each Battalion gets a limited number of slots per class, but definitely within your first year, and how your Company assigns the slots.

The odds are exponentially in your favor! Your unit will not slate you for it until you get settled and make sure you can pass it. But if history proof something is that within a year you’ll be at “The Sabalauski Air Assault School “!

You will attend Air Assault school at Ft. Campbell. You cannot serve in a leadership position in Campbell without being AASLT qualified

Not only will you get to go, unless you have a bunch of Infantry Officers in your class, you will get to be a Platoon Leader.

I got to Campbell in January and just finished the school. It’s a simple form and if you get here relatively soon you will guarantee get a walk on slot if you don’t have time to do an ATRRS reservation.
