I contacted a SOF recruiter today about opportunities for chemical officers in special operations. He said that no such opportunities exist, but I know there are chemical detachments assigned to certain special forces groups. In addition, a couple of my leaders at BOLC told me that they had served in special operations doing CBRN, as they had combat patches for special operations units. Can anybody shed some light on who I can contact to gather more information about these opportunities. Are there opportunities for chemical officers in ARSOF? 2021-10-12T15:12:24-04:00 2LT Private RallyPoint Member 7317536 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>2LT here that just got PCSd to Ft Campbell for my first assignment. If you&#39;re looking for a Chem Officer on an SF team, that won&#39;t be happening. Call the Recruiter again and ask about CBRN Officers in the SF Support BN Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 12 at 2021 3:23 PM 2021-10-12T15:23:41-04:00 2021-10-12T15:23:41-04:00 SFC Private RallyPoint Member 7317595 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>The job of an ARSOF recruiter is to recruit ARSOF MOS&#39;s, Psyops, Civil Affairs, and Special Forces. There is no recruiting for support personnel in those organizations because they are just Airborne units for support personnel. USASOC specifically has a slaying board for interested Senior NCOs and officers to apply to once a year. It&#39;s usually announced in a MILPER message and it&#39;s usually in September.<br /><br />There are other opportunities as well for work in Special Missions Units that you can apply to such as USASED, JSOC and Delta. They have their own recruiters but you can email them to see if they are taking applications for your MOS.
