However, my understanding is I am required to be in E-6 SSG and I&#39;m not. I just feel it would be beneficial for the unit and for the soldiers of the unit because I have personal experience with sexual assault and a lot of the resources available to those that are affected by it. Are there waivers available for certain additional duty assignments? 2017-01-10T09:19:58-05:00 SSG(P) Private RallyPoint Member 2234564 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I&#39;m going into a new unit and I want to offer my services as my Army Reserve Unit&#39;s Victim&#39;s Advocate for SHARP. But chances are, you may not get them at your current rank. Notice I said &quot;MAY.&quot; If your new unit is in dire need of one, and you have the experience....then present/stress your case. Ultimately, it will be your Commander&#39;s decision. The real question is, will they invest the time and effort to waiver? No where near the detail in your question to even guess if there is reason to even request a waiver.
