Are These In Regs?

Ok, so I know AR 670-1 states:
a. Eyeglasses and sunglasses.
(1) Conservative civilian prescription eyeglasses are authorized for wear with all uniforms.

and:
(3) Eyeglasses or sunglasses that are trendy or have lenses or frames with conspicuous initials, designs, or other
adornments are not authorized for wear.

Would you consider these to fall into a "trendy" or non-conservative category? Or are they ok to wear while on Duty?

Trendy? No. That basic design has basically been in style/prevalent since the early 20th century.

Those look like the sort of thing that was issued back in the day. That color or the matt black. So no, those would be ok to wear.

I would say no as that is not a “conservative” color as I’ve always though conservative color meant black or grey or metal.

I just wear the BCGs they issued me or a pair of Oakley square framed plastic glasses with no logos on them I got from my optometrist.

Those don't look "trendy" to me at all. They're brown (or whatever color that is) I don't see the issue. They seem pretty basic to me.

I think they look just fine. I think what they are talking about are some of these mega-fashion designs people like to wear with bling and the like.

They look fine and very boring, so should be good. I would get clarification on the color, though.

They’re not blinged out, they’re not cat eye lenses and they aren’t a bright color. Nothing to see here.

If those glasses were any more conservative, they'd be wearing MAGA hats and protesting science education in the classrooms.... They almost look issued, if they were darker.

Those actually seem like the frames that were issued 2008-2015, the ones before were the birthday brown ones, if you remember currently it's the black squared frames I may be slightly off with the dates

Look fine. As long as they dont have a crazy tinting. No one will confuse you with the "peacful" protestors.

As long as they don’t interfere with headgear, I would they’d be acceptable. They are a conservative color. I’ve seen soldiers and officers with similar ones.

I definitely think that’s a question I’d talk to my CoC about SSG. It’s a big “Commander’s Discretion (Opinion)” thing
