Are we allowed to wear a suit with the U.S. flag pin in civilian clothes?

I'm not interested in doing this myself. I'm curious if it is legal for a service member to do this, as we often see office officials do this.

A servicemember in Civilian clothing wearing an American Flag pin is not illegal per the UCMJ or the Flag Code to my recollection.

Anyone can wear a suit with or without an American flag on it. What is the root question you are trying to answer? Are you under the belief that wearing an American Flag pin is against the UCMJ?

I did when I was active. I see no reason why there should even be an attempt to write a regulation for or against wearing a flag pin on your civilian suit. Writing a policy about it just seems a Karen-thing to do.

In what capacity would you be doing this? I don't think I've ever seen anything in regulation that says a servicemember can't wear a US flag lapel pin in a suit. Why couldn't they?

The only time it would be prohibited is when a unit is deployed to a foreign nation and the Status of Forces Agreement limits such conduct or the unit CO defines appropriate dress to decrease the potential of incidents with the locals.

It is a SUIT!!!! The answer is YES!!! Please make an appointment with a medical provider and tell them you need a "plexiotomy" so you can see out.
