No I am not addicted to social media. That is why I am responding to this at 0300. However, in defence, my 3G flip phone does not accommodate or facilitate any media surfing.

Yes we are becoming adducted to social media. Its all around us and has been sence before cell phones and computers. Most if not all people tend to go to the news to find out what is going on in the world and even our own nabor-hoods. Then we make judgments inn what is reported. We tend to not ask the bigger questions like how did we get to this point? And who started something? We tend to take most of what we read and hear as gospel because we got a message on our phones, computer, or see it on tv. Social media has been and may always be our main means of contact and information. Most people tend to believe everything they get from social media of one form or another. It has became one of our main forms of education. Look to schools, at early ages we are teaching kids to use and become educated by social media even in school. Pedagogy teaches kids to use social media to get their points across about a subject. They teach kids to go to social media to research history and to learn new things rather than pick up a book or news paper. The worst thing is we believe in general what is reported on social media rather than question the validity of what we see and hear. Look at all of us! Yes us! We go to RP to learn and to converse with each other. Social media can be good! But it can also be bad! I guess it depends on what you seek and when!
